Future Shock 2.0
To quote Melanie Mitchell, author of Artificial Intelligence: A Guide for Thinking Humans (which I recommend you check out), “As a career choice, ‘futurist’ is nice work if you can get it. You write books making predictions that can’t be evaluated for decades and whose ultimate validity won’t affect your reputation — or your book sales — in the here and now.”
So while I’m not sure I belong in the category of futurist, I was asked to contribute to the book, After Shock: The World’s Foremost Futurists Reflect on 50 Years of Future Shock_and Look Ahead to the Next 50. Marking the 50-year anniversary of the landmark book Future Shock, After Shock is a collection of essays, which share views of the future through the unique lenses of more than 100 thought-leading futurists spanning Ray Kurzweil to Lord Martin Rees, and featuring a foreword by Deb Westphal, Chairman of the Board of Toffler Associates.
